Happy new year all,
May God grant us success, good health and life in 2014. I  believe many people are still in the holiday mode. Well as we are gearing up for 2014 I believe it is going to be a good year as regards tourism/travel in Nigeria.Like I said in my last post the starting point should be creating awareness .
The Nigerian tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) is the Nigerian tourism regulator and creates tourism awareness. The director general Mrs Sally Mbanefo, sometime in September 2013 promised a lot is in the pipeline to help promote tourism/travel within Nigeria starting with domestic tourists.

However, in October 2013 barely six months after assuming office she was swimming in a big mess of corruption that was even threatening to ruin her career. It goes to show that even tourism sector is not left out in Nigeria corruption saga..The  the former banker replaced jolly Otunba Segun Irusewe who did well to promote the country  but lets hope this year we see signs of her promises coming to reality.

Having said that, tourism awarenes is not and should not be left to only the government,as the private sector, tourists and hosts all have a role to play.
So as we plan for vacation this year would not be bad to consider a Nigeria destination/attraction.Next would be roles of private sector, tourists and hosts.

When Mrs. Sally Uwechue-Mbanefo was appointed to replace jolly Otunba Segun Irusewe, as the new Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), a lot of people said it was a good development. - See more at: http://theoctopusnews.com/tag/director-general-of-the-nigerian-tourism-development-corporation-ntdc/#sthash.czmWC50v.dpuf
